New town, same River.
We were out wandering the beach yesterday when she darted ahead and came back chomping on something slimy—some kind of seaweed she proudly plucked from the shore like it was treasure. Classic. At least I hope it was seaweed.
Honestly, we’ve come to rely on her strange snacking habits to clue us in on what’s growing and changing with the season. Back in Haines, it was berries, dandelions, and—uh—salmon carcasses. Here in Homer, it’s been beach greens, kelp, and things we haven’t quite identified yet (but she’s clearly thrilled about...at least to roll in).
Moving to a new place means continuing to learn all about our environment and new goodies we can try.
So here we are: settling in, exploring new trails, and yelling “DROP IT” about 10 times a day. Feels like home already.
